No.28-97-26 (Laimdota)

Candidate variety, planned for registration in 2025.

A medium-sized tree with a flat, easily shaped crown. It starts producing quickly and produces well, but over the years.

Fruits are medium to large, elliptical-conical or bell-shaped, ribbed, very ribbed at the calyx, smooth. The peel is yellow, sometimes with a faint blush. The flesh is fine-grained, juicy, quite firm when ready to harvest, but later becomes loose. The taste is very good, sweet and sour with a predominance of sweetness, aromatic.

Early winter-winter apple tree . Harvested at the end of September, stable on the tree until harvest. Can be stored in normal storage until January or even March, depending on readiness at the time of harvest (stored at a temperature of 2..3°C). Sensitive during transport.

Resistance to scab and rot is average. Winter hardiness is good in Zemgale, not tested elsewhere.

Comments : The variety is distinguished by its yellow, beautiful and delicious fruits of a peculiar shape. They are similar to the autumn variety 'Merrigold', but are stored longer. Disadvantage - the fruits are sensitive to bruising. Recommended for growing in home gardens and home-picking.
