Apple tree 'Čakstes Auči'

Named in honor of the home of Latvia's first president, Jānis Čakste, "Auči", where he lived since 1918.

The tree is large, compact, with a medium-thick, spreading crown, easy to shape. It produces well and regularly.

It blooms early , in some years it can suffer from spring frosts, then the fruits turn rusty.

Fruits large, smooth, elliptical or round, good-looking. Surface color red with clearly visible stripes and light spots, covering most of the fruit. Peel durable, thick. Flesh medium dense, medium fine-grained or rough, juicy. Taste rich, sweet-sour and aromatic.

Late summer or early autumn variety , harvested in late August - early September. The fruits are persistent on the tree, may turn white in a few years. The most delicious are apples that are fully ripe on the tree, so there is no need to rush with the harvest. The fruits do not store for long.

Very good scab resistance . Also resistant to fruit rot.
