Apple tree 'Inta' (DI variety)

Autumn - early winter apple tree variety with very good fruit quality, easy-to-shape tree, relatively good disease resistance. Fruits are persistent on the tree and can be harvested later than the 'Auksis' variety, distinguished by bright color and very crisp, juicy flesh. Yield in trials significantly higher than 'Auksim'.

Dobele is harvested in the 2nd - 3rd decade of September (later than the variety 'Auksis'), stored until January or longer. Stable on the tree, it is recommended to harvest as late as possible, as then a more intense top color develops. No storage diseases have been observed. Good results have also been obtained when treated with 1-MCP.

Fruits are attractive, large or large, with a bright, even, dark red outer color and a yellow or greenish-yellow base color, smoothed. The shape is round, with moderately pronounced, rounded ribs. The peel of the fruit is moderately thick, firm, the flesh is moderately firm - 4.6...5.3 kg cm-2. Resistant to transportation.

The flesh is yellowish, very crispy and juicy, the taste is sweet and sour with a pronounced predominance of sweetness. Very good tasting rating - appearance 4.2...4.7, taste 4.1...4.3 points. Contains 12.3...13.0 °Brix soluble solids (similar to 'Auksim'), 0.46...0.6% acids. High sugar-acid ratio - 21.7...26.7. Very high total polyphenol content - 93...141 mg 100 g-1., which increases the nutritional value of the fruit.

The tree is medium-sized, easy to shape, with wide branching angles, medium thickness. Thinning of the crown is recommended, however, as it promotes fruit coloration. Productive, with a tendency to produce overwintering.

Blooms medium early, buds purple.

Relatively good resistance to scab (similar in resistance to the variety 'Auksis'), resistant to other diseases - powdery mildew, fruit rot. So far, cancer has not been observed.

Winter hardiness is good in Dobele, not tested elsewhere.
