In celebration of Aleksandar Čakas' 122nd anniversary, the Aleksandar Čakas Award was presented for the thirteenth time.

The Aleksandrs Čakas Award was first presented on the poet's centenary in 2001. Every two years, the awards are presented for an artistically high-quality interpretation of Riga in literature, music, film, theater or visual arts, bookselling, design, architecture, as well as for contributions to the research and popularization of Čakas' personality and work. The author of the award is sculptor Andris Vārpa. This year, it was received by conductor Valdis Butāns, historian Harijs Tumans and Inese Šinta, director of the Pēteris Upīšs Garden Museum.

At the event, M. Wilson performed A. Čakas' poetry, the choir "Ave Sol" performed songs with the poet's words, and the collection of scientific articles about A. Čakas "Reverence for Life" was launched. Antra Medne, the director of the Aleksandrs Čakas Museum, thanked everyone who helped replenish the museum's collections, while I.
