'Jaunkalsnava Night'
A sad love story under the dark purple night sky.
Imants Ziedonis once said that the name of the lilac did not come about by chance. Pēteris Upītis had a girlfriend in Jaunkalsnava, and this lilac variety is a tribute to her – Nadežda Zariņa. The love story of both ended sadly, but the separation took place at night, at the crossroads of Jaunkalsnava.
Lilac flowers are violet-blue with a lighter center and resemble a starry sky. Lilac blooms moderately late, the bush is very strong, with thick shoots.
