House plum 'Zane'
House plum ( Prunus domestica )
The tree forms a wide, spreading crown, with very beautiful, healthy foliage. Branching is well developed, but when it starts to produce, the base parts of the branches that have produced become bare - regular rejuvenating pruning is required.
Blooms medium early, self-infertile. No thinning of fruiting bodies or fruits required.
The fruits ripen in the 2nd and 3rd decade of August. Very beautiful, large, juicy fruits with a loose stone (in hot summers the stone may split), with an exceptionally good, honey-like taste. The fruits ripen very gradually, so the variety is more suitable for growing in home gardens.
