Gaistošais Sapnis

One of the few bi-coloured lilac cultivars.

PēterisUpītis said "those who work with plants need to have patience. Those lacking patience should not occupy themselves with fruit-growing. Instead, they should buy fireworks – that's where there are immediate effects." The rare lilac cultivars bred by Upītis attest to his patience. Only a few bi-coloured lilac cultivars have been bred anywhere in the world; the Institute of Horticulture can pride itself on having three such cultivars. Two of these were bred by PēterisUpītis. 'GaistošaisSapnis' has medium-large inflorescences, and its blossoms are rose-violet in colour, with white rims. Sometimes this cultivar develops single blossoms or parts of the blossom that are white in colour.
